MY STORY

Hi, I’m Nikki - The artist and marine biologist behind Nikki Satchell Studio. This is where my love for the ocean and my slow, detailed dot-work drawings come together. I’ve always been drawn to the ocean and creating these pieces feels like a way to honour the creatures and moments that shaped me.

Where It All Began

I grew up in Southwest Victoria with the ocean woven into my childhood. Some of my favourite memories are longs days on the water with my dad - fishing, exploring, and noticing the tiny patterns and details in every creature we came across.

Those quiet moments sparked a curiosity in me the never left.

A Life Led by the Ocean

That early facilitation with marine life led me to study marine biology, where I deepened my understanding and love for the ocean.

Where Art and Ocean Meet

Every piece I create starts with a species that inspires me. I draw dot by dot, building shape, texture and movement until the creature feels alive on the page. Once complete, each artwork is professionally reproduced on premium archival cotton rag paper to preserve every detail.

Nikki Satchell Studio exists to spark connection, not just to art, but to the ocean itself. I hope my drawings inspire people to slow down, appreciate the beauty beneath the waves, and feel encouraged to protect the marine life that means so much to us.

My art is for ocean lovers, coastal homes and anyone who feels a little more themselves with salt in their hair.
